I have an internship at a local art museum this summer that I really want to do but it’s a huge time commitment and not really related to what I want to go into. My mom doesn’t think that it’s a good use of time and wants me to study for the ACTs (even though I already got a good score on them smh). What should I do? And if anyone has some news articles or sources that might convince my mom to let me intern, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
I say you jump at the chance for the internship!! As long as you don’t need the money from a part time job, it sounds so cool!
It could be the basis for so many different college essays, and may very well set you apart from the pack.
And there will be plenty of time to study; the art museum isn’t open 24/7.
Have fun, and congrats!!!
my bit of advice would be to go for something that you’re interested in so your internship can be related to what you’d like to go into, but maybe you will end up going into the art field and if its something youd really enjoy id do it
What year are you? Junior?
What is your ACT score?
Can you study and intern?
I would say intern…even if you don’t care about museums you will still learn about the working world.
Colleges like to see you do something productive over the summer.
