Should I submit a 1510 SAT (770RW, 740M) to T20s/LACs?

Submit. The rest of your application will determine whether you get into those schools, not 10, 20 or 30 points higher on your SAT. I do agree however, that these are more of a reach than a 50-50 chance.

1510 is a great score, but unfortunately I donā€™t think anyone here has enough information to tell you whether you should submit or not, especially since you are an international applicant. International admissions are generally even more competitive than domestic admissions, and like with your grade point, your test score will be compared to the other applicants from your country/region/demographic.

If you have access to a competent local college counselor familiar with students applying to the US, that counselor would be in a much better position to advise you than anyone here. If you can talk to such a counselor, ask them how past applicants from your demographic have fared when applying to these schools with a 1510/3.85 GPA, and ask them the SAT scores/grades of the students who have been admitted in the past. This information would provide a better guide of how to perceive than anything we can tell you here.

Good Luck!

Thanks for your input everyone. Yes, I am aware that my chances of getting into these schools are extremely low. I also havenā€™t finalized my college list yet and I just included the schools in my original post because I was researching them and I noticed their SAT percentiles were rather high - I wanted advice on whether I should submit my SAT score should I decide to apply to any of those schools.

Iā€™m actually not entirely sure what my GPA is in terms of the American grading system - I used a few different GPA calculators on the internet and got UW GPA results of 3.83-4.05. However, I donā€™t think most of the colleges Iā€™m looking at recalculate GPAs for international students, and Iā€™m not too concerned about my GPA as thereā€™s nothing much I can do to change it at this point (we study the same subjects for the last 2 years of high school in my country, and Iā€™m on track to get A+ grades in all my subjects this year).

Based on the feedback I received, I think Iā€™ll probably submit my 1510 after all.

Unfortunately Iā€™m unable to hire a private college admissions counselor/consultant, but Iā€™ll ask my school counselor if she knows the stats of the few people from my school who have applied/been admitted to US universities in the past.

A school counselor might be better than a private counselor anyway, especially if your school sometimes sends students to US colleges.

Absolutely submit. I believe that there is a threshold or bar of 1500 for the highest selective schools (HYPS, etc). Anything over that is a matter of luck, cohort test group or repeated tries - and wonā€™t make a difference. Missing a single question can knock off 30 pts. My kid (2021) (no hooks) got a 1530 and wanted to retake. Convinced them not to and focus on more impt aspects (essays, etc). Got into 3 top 20, including a HPYS.

Itā€™s like getting a 97 or 99 or 100 on an exam. All show mastery of the content.
