So I have noticed that the 50% percentile/range for most colleges seem to have lower stats for the SAT than ACT. for Example, the numbers for USC (southern California) ACT are 30-33, while their SAT is 1280-1500. if you converted 1280 to the ACT is would be around a 26/27. So does that just mean that people who submit the ACT just typically get higher scores? I am unsure of which I should submit. Here are my stats
Since USC is very test focused, I would retake either the SAT and ACT and aim for at least 31+ACT and 1400+ SAT if you want to be considered a serious applicant.
Right now both scores are below the 25th percentile so you will really need to study hard to raise one of them if you are looking towards applying to USC and schools along those lines.
Well I think it also depends on the subsections. Google 2018 SAT/ACT concordance tables to compare your totals and subsections and see which are in the higher percentiles.
If you score higher in some subsections on the SAT and other subsections on the ACT, consider submitting both. They don’t superscore the two tests together but they will look at strengths.
