Should I submit weighted or unweighted rank? Time sensitive

The title pretty much says it all. My high school gives me the choice of what to send, which it notes in the profile it sends to colleges. I go to a competitive high school and my weighted rank is 21/270 while my unweighted rank is 13/270. Both are within the top 10%. I've taken 10 of the 20 APs my school offers. The ones I haven't taken are the AP Englishes (9-12), AP Arts, AP Calc BC, AP Physics, AP Econ., AP Euro Hist. and AP Spanish.

I've never been interested in English or Art, and I take AP French instead of Spanish which is my reasoning for those ones (weak I know) and while I took all the other AP sciences in my school, I just never had room for physics. The other three I just didn't want to or couldn't take (AP Calc BC since I am only in AP Calc Ab this yr).

However, I don't think colleges will see any of my reasoning when they look at my transcript. They'll just think that I should taken more AP classes.

So would it be better to send my weighted or unweighted class rank with this in mind. My counselor told me to send unweighted and she always seems very knowledgeable, but I'm still a bit worried.

I also only have until tomorrow night to decide so any advice would be very very appreciated.

Unweighted…? It’s higher. Why send a lower rank.

Besides, if you send an unweighted of 13/270, they’re likely to think your APs would make a weighted rank even better. This is typically the case, but the opposite for you I guess due to the number of APs all the top students are taking.

You’re out of your mind if you think colleges will see 10 AP classes and think “he should have taken more.”

Yeah but they’ll know that I chose not to send them weighted rank and maybe they’ll think I’m not in the top 10 percent

Send the higher one.

And maybe if you send the weighted one, they’ll think you chose not to send the unweighted rank, so it must be lower. How could that objection be relevant here, but somehow not apply if you were to send the weighted rank and not unweighted?

Honestly, by either measure, you’re in the top decile of your class, but not the top 2 or 3 students. There isn’t much significance in the difference between them. You’re overthinking this. Send the higher one.
