Hi, I’m going into my junior year next year and I was wondering if anyone has taken AP Physics 1 and wants to describe what the workload is like? I’m taking AP Chemistry and AP Spanish so far next year, and all my other classes are Honors classes. I’m thinking of doubling up on sciences next year and also taking either honors physics 1 or AP physics 1, and I was wondering if that would be too stressful to take 2 AP sciences as a junior? I’m basically a straight A student right now (sophomore taking all honors classes) but I know I have to break my habit of procrastinating before next year haha. Thanks!
I would not suggest two lab sciences in a year…both have labs and usually take up more than one class period. It would be very stressful and it is not expected by colleges. Take AP Physics this year and an AP version of Chem or Bio next year.
My advice would be to take AP English language, AP Spanish, and either honors physics or AP physics1 junior year, then to take AP chem senior year. AP chem is one of the hardest science classes, both conceptually and on terms of time commitment. If you want to double up in science, then honors physics and AP Bio will require different skills and should be more doable.
