Should I take a GE class P/NP?

I am currently a 3rd-year Electrical Engineering major. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to take a general ed class P/NP at my community college over the summer? I transferred to a UC last year and I maxed out all of my transferable credit. I asked an adviser and she said that I can take a GE class at a community college and use it to satisfy a GE but I would not receive any credit (thus not affecting my GPA regardless of what grade I get).

How would this affect my chances of getting into grad school? Would they care if I took all of my GE classes P/NP? For graduation purposes, my university only allows up to 25% of classes taken to be P/NP and that's just enough to clear my remaining GEs. I heard some grad schools consider a Pass to be a C grade. Is that true?

I’m a 4th-year EE at UCSD too, and I took as many of my GEs P/NP as I could. As far as I can tell, it did not impact my graduate admissions.
