I'm a freshman trying to get into the b school. I can either take Accounting 271 or Math 147 in my schedule this semester. My other 3 classes are Econ 102, Arabic 102, and English 125. Is ACC 271 hard at Michigan? Will it kill my GPA?

If you do well in ACC 271, the B school will love it. It means you are capable of their "second level" "weeder" class.

I took Math 147 last semester. It's a relatively easy class, and if you work consistently you will easily pull off an A. Accounting 271 from what I've heard is a very difficult class which has troubled many B-School students, so if you manage to do well in that one you will give the B-School an excellent reason to admit you. However, if I were you I would only go for the Accounting class if I were confident of my prior accounting skills. You won't want to be in a situation where that very important course leads to less than desirable results.
