I'm thinking of taking it next semester rather than doing it sophomore year, but have got mixed advice from numerous people. My peer advisor said that it is a good idea and the curve will be easier because of the LSA students taking it, and my other advisor advised me against taking the class saying that freshmen generally don't do so well in the class. What do you guys think? is it manageable?

Also how would that be with Stats 250, Eng 124, LHC 250 and another 3 credit seminar (15.5 credit hours)?

The course is very difficult for ome people and not so difficult for others. It was the Ross weed out course when Ross was B-school and the BBA program was a two year program. It won’t make much of a difference if you take it now or if you wait because your other classes will not provide you with any additional background that will be helpful so if it fits in the schedule now you might as well take it.

dont let others(especially ur advisor) question your ability to excel. If you know you can do it, do it.

My advisor told me they would never allow someone(even near 4.0s) to take a courseload im taking right now, but I ignored him and am doing pretty well after 1st round of midterms.

I’ll second that. I was advised I should not take a “difficult” course earlier than most do, but did anyway. If you can, try to talk to students who know the difficulty level of the course AND are familiar with your abilities. They will provide the best guidance.

My advice: you can definitely do it. That schedule is by no means overwhelming. Just put in the necessary time, make sure you know the material, and you’ll do fine.

Yea I talked to a few b school students who knew me more, that’s partly what tipped me towards deciding to take the class.

As for 20 credits, thats insane If you don’t mind me asking why are you in such a hurry to graduate? Right now with a moderate workload and extracurriculars I’m averaging at like 7 hours sleep a day can’t even imagine how it’d be for you

Stats 250 is supposed to be very easy for people with decent math backgrounds, and from what I’ve heard, the freshmen seminars are also fairly easy. I think you would be able to handle the credit-load, but I don’t see why you’d want to spend the extra money to take 20 credits for a semester.
