I am going to be a junior next year and I just want to know if its worth it to take these classes?
Ap English and comp
Pre-calculus
Ap physics 1
*DE College US history
*French IV
*DE theatre practicum (Sem)
*Economis and personal Finance (required)
AP Economics
Now, I want to say that I am really good at math and many have told me that, I will be find in physics because they took it while taking Pre-calc as well. My french teacher thinks I have the ability to continue and I have a good grade in that class. Now, is this too much AP? I only took 1 during my sophomore year but I just don’t feel challenged. Please let me know if any of these classes are too hard to take so I can re think it. Especially French 4 and Ap Economics! Thank you!
I agree with @marvin100. I would also suggest you double check with you GC on the graduation requirements; for almost every school I’ve seen, AP Econ fulfills the personal finance requirement.
What do you think you want to major in in college?
AP Economics is not super difficult…French 4 should be not too different than what you have been doing in french all along. I would also consider Dual Enrollment history…that might be a much faster pace than you are used to as well as the theater. If you consider AP to be college level, then you are taking 5 college level classes…
That does seem like a lot
Is DE US history taught at your HS and labeled, or is it physically in a college classroom with college students?
All in all, it’s a good schedule for a high-achieving junior.
Double check that Personal Finance&Economics/AP Econ isn’t one of these first semester/second semester combo, in which case it’d make things easier for you if you took the DE US History class alongside the much easier Personal Finance class, and take AP Econ second semester.
It seems alright. Does your school offer APUSH? I’m not sure about other schools but at my school APUSH is a lot more rigorous than DE US History since it goes back further in time.
Dual enrollment classes taught in our high school transfer to all of our state universities and from what I have seen to surrounding states. They are taught in our high school because it is easier for one professor to come to our campus than for 60-90 students to drive to the local CC.
I am thinking of going out of state (maybe DUKE)… I don’t want to stay in the state I am in. I want the DE class because i like it and It will look good on my transcript.
