I’m looking to be either Biology or Neuroscience pre-med in college. Next year is senior year and so far I’ve got:
AP Physics C
AP English Lit
AP Psychology
AP Spanish (not native)
My choices are Intro to Engineering (college), AP Art History, and A&P. I need to pick 2!
Intro to Engineering - The class has a really good teacher. It’s not too hard, but it’s still some work. I’d like to take the class to see if I would maybe like to become an engineer.
AP Art History - There’s a field trip to Italy in spring break, and I’d really like to gain a better appreciation of the arts. Also great teacher and easy AP.
A&P - Very interesting content. Just not sure if I can handle the work load on top of Physics C, Lit, and Spanish.
I’d ideally like to take them all, but what would you do?
I would definitely take A&P if you want to go into the health field. I’m going into premed and I am taking it right now as a senior! But also don’t forget to take a class that you enjoy. It’s your senior year after all!
A&P as a high schooler is not necessary. If you want to take it, take it, but if you’d rather get exposure to engineering and Art History don’t think you’re making a mistake by skipping A&P.
When you say “(college)” for intro to engineering, do you mean that’s a class you’d take at a college rather than your high school? Keep in mind that your grade for this class will have to be reported and factored into your GPA on your application to medical school since it’s a college course.
