Would taking an a&p class be useless if I’m already taking AP Biology?

Currently, I am planning to take both AP biology and regular a&p (no honors at my school) senior year. However I want to switch out a&p with astronomy, because astronomy has a better rep at my school with the class known to be fun and stress-free in general, while a&p has a bad teacher. However I plan to go into pre-med, and a&p would be closer to my future major than astronomy would. If I’m taking AP Bio already do I really need a&p though? I’d rather take astronomy, but if a&p is more useful then I’ll stick with it.

Thanks for feedback.

Do you really need A&P in HS? No. If you’d rather take astronomy, take astronomy.

High school anatomy and physiology is a pretty useless class on a college level, since it will be completely different, so stick with the AP Biology.

If you haven’t taken Physics yet, that would be more useful for a potential premed.

Actually if you have interest in A&P, it is a good fit with AP Bio as you do learn some of the same things.

You do not need HS A&P for pre-med.

Make sure you have taken Bio, chem and Physics in HS.

I wouldn’t bother with high school astronomy either. It’s not useful for a potential premed and I have never heard of any high school astronomy class which hasn’t been a fluff class.

If you have not taken a Physics class in high school yet, you should do so. Even a regular Physics class is a good introduction.

Assuming you have a track record of rigorous courses, take the one you think you’ll enjoy more.
