I am taking Honors Chem this year (a requirement) and doing really good and loving it. Do a lot of kids take any Bio or Chem classes before AP bio and chem?

Would you recommend that I go for it or not? and why?

I think most people take a Biology and a Chemistry class before they take AP Bio/Chem; I took Honors Biology in 9th grade and Chemistry in 10th grade (there is no honors, and you have to take Chemistry before you can take AP Chemistry in my school). My friend is taking AP Physics B and AP Chemistry this year (as a Junior) and she is doing fine, and I’m planning on taking AP Physics C and AP Chemistry next year (as a Senior). AP Biology requires a ton of reading and memorization, and AP Chemistry has a ton of formulas and requires understanding of complex word problems. As long as the rest of your schedule isn’t too demanding, you think you can handle the work, and the teachers don’t pound on too much homework, you should be okay.

AP Bio is a ton of reading and work, AP Chem is really just about formulas. Taking Bio 1 and Chem 1 beforehand definitely help a lot. You should be fine :)
