I’m going to be a senior next year.
This year I’m taking AP Physics 1, but I hate it and have no plans to continue on to AP Physics 2.
My sophomore year, I took Pre-AP Chemistry. I got my way through it with a B average, but it wasn’t my favorite class. A lot of my friends went immediately to AP Chemistry and say it’s easy, but then again, they’re smarter than I am.
I’m most interested in Biology. The topic is more up my alley, and when I took Biology freshman year, I got high A’s all year. But AP Biology has a horrible rep at my school-supposedly the good teacher left, and it’s really hard, with long homework assignments and doozy test questions. Almost everyone who I’ve asked about it is failing.
I’m lost, and registration is coming up soon. Any opinions on this?
Is the AP Chem teacher really good? What are the pass rates of each class?
I would personally go with the class that has the better teacher because a good teacher can make any subject more interesting and bad teachers irritate me.
I haven’t heard anything about the teacher, but I’ll ask around. Thanks for the advice!
If you took Pre AP Chem or Chem Honors, I would take AP Chem. Going from regular bio to AP bio would be harder than already having some experience in the chemistry from the pre ap class.
Thanks for the advice!
AP Chem. It’s really not too difficult. Once you get the concepts nailed down, the rest comes pretty easily. If you work hard at it and have a good teacher, you’ll do fine.
