Should I take AP Gov senior year?

I know it is an easier AP, but it does not relate to my major in any way, is it worth taking? My other courses will be AP Physics 1, AP Lit, and AP Calc AB. Would it be too stressful with gov? Would I be looked down upon for not taking it even though it has no correlation to my major (biology)? Thanks for taking a look at this.

As a senior currently taking it, I would say take it. It is not much harder than a regulars course (imo) and if you do well on the AP test you don’t have to do it in college (which some require)

@Texasstudent827 Okay, thank you for this insight.

I agree with @Texasstudent827 AP Gov is almost the exact same as regular Gov. It’s actually easier at my school. If you are going to have to take government either way than I suggest you just take the AP. However, if you were thinking about taking another class instead of government that pertains more to your future major, that could be good too!

What are the graduation requirements for Social Studies?
What are the recommendations for years of SS for any colleges of interest?
E.g., do you NEED to take it?

What else would you take instead?

@bopper I need to take either gov or AP gov. So it is one or the other. Either way I’ll be taking a form of gov during a semester.

It depends.
Generally I would say no, it wouldn’t matter for a biology major.

But also take into account:
How many APs did you take last year?
How did you do in them?
What tier of schools are you going for?
