AP class not related to major?

So my senior year, I obviously have room for a lot of electives because I got my required classes out of the way. I don’t plan on majoring in Biology, but it is a topic that seemed pretty interesting to me. So I might take AP Biology my senior year. However, because I am not majoring in biology or anything related, I feel it might not be the smartest decision to make. I want to go into law school and already took regular psychology so should I go for it? Or go for AP Psych? I’ll also be taking AP Gov and AP Calc AB, and Psych and Gov are generally considered two of the easier AP classes. I just don’t want to ruin my chances of getting into somewhere pretty prestigious.

If it interests you, take it. If you like the subject, it’ll be easier.

What do you want to major in?
Would you need to take Biology for that major? Do you need to take a science for your major?

So this is your dilemma:
You want to look like you are taking a challenging course load to top colleges.
But, fall of senior year is busy with college applications and spring of senior year brings senioritis.

What would your Senior Year course load be?

If you are taking AP Lit, AP calc, AP Gov…then think about what science you would take and if you want to add AP Bio.

@bopper Senioritis won’t apply to me. My schedule for 3rd and 4th quarter is Ap Calc AB, AP Gov, AP Bio, choir, and an off block. I’m currently planning to major in Political Science, and go into law school.

If you’re not worried about the sheer number of AP courses/whether they would be easy, definitely go for it! AP Bio is a lot of fun, and you might get a basic science credit out of the way if your prospective school takes AP credits. Beware, it’s pretty involved and requires TONS of memorization, and you’re going to want a strong chemistry background.

AP Bio may be good because if you score 4 or 5, you’re likely to get a science requirement taken care of , meaning one more class you can take toward law school.
Same with AP Calculus AB.
AP Gov is good for your future major but you may not want to “take the credit” on that one even if you score high enough and can skip the first class in political science - you’ll have to evaluate.
What other classes will you be taking?

Our school uses an 8 period, 4 quarter system – not all classes are taken year round. I either want to go into law school or computer engineering

It looks like that first link isn’t working. Let’s try again.

@MYOS1634 Okay, the link won’t work. First quarter: concert choir (best of the best), world literature and comp (english class, I would take AP English Literature but I’m more of a writer than a reader – that’s why I took AP English Lang, and I don’t want just all AP classes in my schedule. I don’t think I could quite handle that.), personal law, psychology, computer applications. Second quarter: switch out Law for Economics and Psychology for AP Biology. Third and fourth quarters: choir, computer programming, bio, gov, calc ab
