Should I take AP physics 1?

I’m debating between normal physics or ap for junior year. These are the other class I plan on taking next year:
AP Bio
AP Chinese
APUSH
AP English Lang
Precalc

If I take ap physics, I won’t have a lunch period which really isn’t a big deal, I’m more worried if I will be able to keep up with the workload and if I will have the time to study for other things like the SAT.

I have the same question. You are asking about the relative workload difference between HS Physics and AP Physics 1, correct? Were you planning on taking AP Physics C in your senior year?

Yes, I was asking about the workload difference between these two classes and no, I do not plan on taking AP Physics C senior year or any other physic class.

So I think it would depend on the schools, and maybe there would be very little difference at some schools. For your schedule, I think either would be doable although you would then have a full load. The reason to lean toward AP Physics 1 would be the higher grade weight and also for the chance to earn college credit for a sufficiently high AP exam score. AP Physics 1 gets a low percentage of 5s, but this is most likely due to the large number of underprepared students that take the class.

I would not suggest taking 5 APs, particularly since AP Lang and APUSH typically have heavy workloads… Nor would I suggest doubling up on 2 AP sciences. My preference would be to take AP Physics 1 and push AP Bio to senior year. If you are dead set on taking AP Bio as a junior, then I would opt for normal physics. But you know your capabilites better than us.

My school doesn’t do weighted gpa so taking ap physics won’t benefit me in terms of gpa, it’ll only bring it down but Idk how much.

I think maybe it would be better to take normal physics but then I’m afraid I will have too little ap classes since I only have one in total for freshmen and sophomore year (ap world)

Per post #4, there a lot of complaints here about bad AP Biology grades. There is one right at the moment (two if you count the dupe) about a bad Honors Bio 2 class grade. You a choosing a very challenging combination of AP classes to load up on. Now that you say that your school doesn’t have weighted GPAs, even more to consider what @skieurope said above and try to rebalance your schedule.

Most high schools limit AP courses available for 9th and 10th graders. Your situation is not unique and not a reason to just pile on AP classes junior/senior years.

Yeah, I heard of how hard ap bio is. I guess I will just take normal physics then. Thanks to everyone who replied.
