I am going down a pre-health track but I was researching the MCAT and medical school requirements and I saw that i would need to take statistics. So I already requested to change my Applied Calc Class to statistics but was that the right thing? Should I cancel the request? Do I extremely need Calc. I have already taken AP Calculus but I got a 3 so my school wouldn't take credit.

If I were you, I would call a couple/few medical school admissions offices and ask them.

The new MCAT is going to test on statistics. I would stay with statistics. I don’t think there’s any reason to take a third semester of calculus.

If Calculus I and II arent on your college transcript you will most likely need them.

I believe most schools require a year of Calculus. If you’ve already taken that, then you can also take statistics, but I would prioritize calculus if you haven’t already taken it.

Most medical schools only require one semester of calculus. However, there are some schools that require two semesters. I think that having two semesters of calculus and one semester of statistics will probably be the safest bet, unless you know that you’re not going to be applying to schools that only require one semester calculus. However, be aware that medical schools can change their requirements at any time.
