I’m a sophomore who is planning to take the SAT and ACT this winter/next spring. My question is if I should save myself the trouble of taking the ACT and just focus on the SAT. Will taking both be preferred over taking just one? Also, what are your experiences taking these tests? Thank you!
You only need to send one
Why wouldn’t you take both? There’s no penalty in doing so and you don’t have to submit both scores. Certain students do better on one test over the other. There’s no way of knowing unless you prep for and take both.
Take practice tests in each one and prep for whichever one you do better in. Then just take that one. Its a waste of money to do both.
Probably, because they’re both different and one may be easier for you. I’ve only taken the ACT, but I’ve heard of people who like the SAT better and vise versa.
Take two practice tests and see which one you do better in. Then buy any books and whatever prep materials you plan on getting for that particular test. It’ll save you time and money.
Also remember that Stanford requires you to send your entire testing history. You could just not send the ACT but then ethics comes into play.
