Should I Take Four Ap Classes Next Year?

Next year (my junior year) I want to take four ap classes. Ap language, APUSH, Ap Physics, and Ap Biology. I’ve taken one Ap class before (Ap Human Geography). I am not taking any this year because I doubled up on math so that I could take Ap Calculus my senior year. My classes are all honors right now and I have a 97 gpa with a’s in all of my classes currently. I know that this is a course heavy schedule, but I want to be pre med which is why I really want to take the science APs. And the others mainly because I want to get into a top tier school and also I am open to challenging myself and getting more of a taste of the college level work.

Which AP Physics? If it’s C, I would not recommended doubling up on science.

I assume AP Physics 1, since OP has not had calc yet. I would think long and hard about doubling up on AP sciences, and certainly would not suggest it at the expense of another core subject.

4 AP courses as a junior is not unrealistic for a high performing student. Whether that describes you is something none of us know.

Going from a “gateway to AP” class like Human Geo with a year off and then 4 APs may be taking on more than you can chew. Then again maybe you’re just ready for the challenge. Just in case see if you’d be allowed into us history honors if APUSH prices to formidable.

I would not recommend doubling up on AP lab sciences. Just take AP Physics (assuming you have had bio and chem) and then take AP Bio next year.

Four APs is fairly typical of a high-performing junior or senior at our high school.

I agree with the others that you should think carefully about doubling up on science. At least do some research by talking to the teachers, current students, or your guidance counselor to find out what the work load will look like.
