I am a homeschooled junior looking to apply to Emory. On their website they say that homeschooled applicants have to submit 3 SAT subject tests, and one of those has to be math. I am taking pre-calculus right now, so by the end of this year will I learn what I need to know for Math II? Will it increase my chances in getting in if I take Math II rather than Math I? I am looking into the business school but I am still undecided. I am planning on taking the literature subject test also, and I’m not sure which other one. If you have any suggestions, feel free to state them! I am also applying for financial aid and looking into the Emory scholars program.
Yes.
No. But if you’ve taken precalc, AO’s will be looking for you to have submitted M2 instead of M1
It depends on you and your preparation. If you’ve taken biochem/USH/world history, you should be prepared for those. Try a practice test in each and see which score is best.
@skieurope my DS20 is also taking pre-cal this year, so he only needs to take M2, no need to take M1 anymore, is that correct?
Thank you.
Correct. One only needs to submit one or the other if one chooses to submit a math test.
@skieurope I have been looking at the subject tests more, and I think I will take US history because I’m taking it this year. Since I am also taking literature, would it weaken me to not have a science test? I took biology and chemistry freshman and sophomore year and i don’t remember enough to get a high score, and I I’m taking physics senior year.
@naturecreative When all else fails, follow the instructions. Emory says:

Since they do not state that specific disciples are needed (and believe me, college will state if they want a specific test,) you are free to choose the ones you’d like.
