Should I take SAT with a 36 on ACT and no writing.

Hi, currently a junior, last spring I got a 36 on my ACT but I didn’t take it with writing for whatever reason, so was now wondering if I should take the SAT both to strengthen my application and, more importantly, reassure colleges on my writing ability? (Looking to go to a top school if that affects answer)

No. As you can see from college websites, they no longer recommend the essay. Congratulations on being done!

No

There is a lot more to the application than just scores. You aced that part. You earn zero bonus points for a strong SAT score.

Other than West Point, literally no college cares about the essay score. Colleges can assess your writing through the application essays.

It does not.

The UC system was one of the last holdouts for ACT writing and they (thankfully) stopped requiring it this year.
