So I am entering eleventh grade and live on the east coast. I was always planning on taking both the act and sats, and i took the acts in april of my 10th grade year. I got a 33 as a score, which is about a 2180 and 9 on writing, and am taking the acts in september. I dont know whether I should take the sats because I was not expecting such a score on my acts and do not want to spend a lot of time studying for the sats and I know i will not get a 2180 on the sats without a LOT of studying because I got a 175 on the psats. Do you think I should take the SAT’s?
And do all schools except students who just took the acts, like penn state, cmu, colombia, northwestern, ucla?
If you are not going to try for National Merit with the PSAT, there may be no need to take the SAT.
I would stick to the 33. A 175 is an indication that you would not do so strongly on the SAT without a lot of studying. Take a practice test, though.
I’d say focus on your ACTs, honestly.
