I was wondering it is advisable to retake courses such as BC Calculus, Chemistry, and possibly Biology (I’ve taken these courses at the AP in highschool and will most likely receive credit). I want to, for lack of a better term, “rebase” myself in these courses so as to begin freshman year with a sound foundation. I want to double major in biochem and neuroscience.
Take calculus 1 in summer. Maybe you can ask the professor who teaches biology and chemistry to sit in as a free student, you can take notes and have the choice to take the tests.
Do not spend your summer taking classes! Enjoy it, get a paying job…
There is no reason to spend extra money doing summer school- that tends to run at a fast pace as well. If you need to do the UW versions of AP courses take them in a regular semester. Once you have a year of college then you may choose to do summer classes. Since you are a good student you will be able to handle courses without repeating them. If you feel you must refresh, just review materials from online/library sources.
