Should I take the SAT / ACT again??

I took both tests as a sophomore and got:
SAT - 2050 (600 CR, 680 W, 770 M)
ACT - 30 (28 E, 30 M, 30 S, 32 R)
and then I took them both again as a junior and got:
SAT - 2200 (680 CR, 720 W, 800 M)
ACT - 30 again (31 E, 34 M, 30 S, 26 R).
I had a panic attack or something during the reading section of ACT the second time and ended up guessing on a lot of it—if that helps explain why I went down 6 points.

Anyway, I’m not sure what I should take again. I think some schools would make me send my ACT scores, even though I’d rather just send SAT, in which case it might be advantageous to take the ACT again. On the other hand, I never studied for either, so I feel like if i studied for the SAT and took it again I could get around 2300. Does it look bad if I take these tests 3 times?

It really depends on what schools you are applying to next year. For some schools it may fine and for others it may not be. Taking the SAT 3 times is not a bad idea if you are trying for very selective schools and the schools super score. Look at the CDS at the schools you are looking at to see if your scores fall in their range.

You don’t have to submit both scores, just send the SAT
