So basically i got two 31's
test 1: Math 34 English 30 reading 28 science 30
Test 2: Math 35 English 33 reading 27 science 30

I really want to go out of state to a school like michigan texas or illinois...

Are these scores good enough??

Can’t comment on whether the scores are good enough, but my daughter was advised to take the ACT 3 times. The 1st time to get a feel for the test, 2nd time to concentrate on low scoring areas and then one last time, hopefully for the win! Statistically, there is little or no improvement on subsequent tests. This is the advice we got, your milage may vary.

Looking at your results, I think that with focused practice, you might be able to bring that reading score in the 30’s. That would give you a 32, if your other scores stayed the same. To do this, you must take timed practice reading tests. Generally, people score low in reading because they run out of time. You can train your brain to move quicker, but it requires practice. There is a great post on this forum about scoring higher on the reading section, with a lot of solid advice. I will try to find it for you.

Thanks for the thorough response :)

The reading prep would be a great idea. That’s what I would advise.

It depends on what your subscores were in each subject. I scored a 30 composite. I scored in the 30s on all except Science, which I scored lower on than the other subjects. In order for me to have even improved by 1 composite score point I would of had to drastically improve my low Science score. That wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. So I just left it at that and didn’t retake it. Looking at your subscores, it looks like you would have to improve reading in order to go up even a little bit.

yeah i guess so, ugh i hate reading
