Should I Transfer or Not?

I'm currently a freshman in college (a SUNY school) and I am considering transferring. I don't know if the school I'm at right now is the right fit for me because it is a really big party school and I don't like the surrounding area. My roommate also decided to live with someone else for next year, so now I would be stuck with having to get a random roommate which I don't want to do. On the other hand, I was accepted to a much better school for the fall, SUNY Geneseo, and I'm considering transferring there. However, my boyfriend goes there right now and I don't want to feel as if I'm following him there because in a way, I need my own space. I don't want to spend all my time with him and not make any new friends. I really love Geneseo's campus and I think I would fit in there, but I don't want to be set back socially. So should I transfer or not? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

my brother went to Geneseo. It has a really good reputation as SUNYs go. One of the top if you’re STEM fields I believe. It all depends upon what you want to do. However, I’ve learned that at SUNYs, as long as theyre not community colleges, it doesnt really matter so long as you get really good grades.

you wont be set back socially. i lived with at least 3 or 4 people that had girlfriends at the school, or transferred to the school where they went. I went to SUNY Albany, and I learned that the social life was never a problem, but that a lot of people lack academic focus. so find that first.

Thanks. Can anyone compare SUNY Oswego and SUNY Geneseo’s business schools?
