Should I Transfer? SUNY plattsburgh??

(please read the whole thing to understand, i know its a lot sorry bout that)

Hi everyone, I’ve been reading this forum for quite some time now, but this is the first time I ever post something, so here it goes.

I am a senior in Long Island.
URM: Hispanic
Rank: 52 out of 452
GPA: 96.320
SAT: 1500ish/2400
AP Spanish Language: 5

ECs and Honors: (all senior year, didn’t know this was important as a junior)
DECA member-2nd place in regionals 1st place in states
FBLA member- 3rd place in regionals (didn’t go to states)
Life Smarts team Captain- Qualified to States (competition kinda like jeopardy)
Work: no experience at all.

Situation:

I have only been living in the US for a year and a half now. Entered as a junior, counselors wouldn’t let me take APs or Honors as much as I wanted, until I was finished with the regents classes (which everybody takes as a soph and junior and APs as a senior) I had to take them as a junior and senior. Now I am graduating and couldn’t take any APs besides Spanish. I obviously sucked at the SATs (took them twice). I have been accepted as in SUNY Plattsburgh. Getting good money probably honors program. Most probably will take AP Micro and Macro (Since I know that stuff although my school doesn’t offer the class it’s possible to subscribe without taking the class).

Questions:
My question is now that it’s too late to apply to more schools, what should I do?
I am thinking about taking those APs Exams, take full advantage of those mediocre classes I am thinking right now, go to Plattsburgh State for 1 year and transfer to any of the top 20 Schools(don’t care which one). I know seems stupid, and I have to find my “right fit” but seriously I came here to study, I sacrificed all my friends and life to get a good education and I want to go to a top 20 school. (Thinking about a doctorate)
I was thinking about rising my SAT score up to 2100 or more, I know I can if go 4 it, should I take it in college or take in June, my last month in High School?
What school will accept me (be realistic please) guessing I get 3.8 in college and my sats up? How will they look at me and the classes I took (they gave me in HS) I know they look at all that stuff more than your college stuff??
If the opportunity if given, should I take the Honors Program at Plattsburgh? Will it look better than regular classes? Or it will be just too much effort for nothing?
How good is Plattsburgh State, in terms of education? I was thinking my plan was perfect but I have been reading that ppl there can’t transfer out, I don’t know why. =S.
If someone goes there, how is the education? Do people transfer out frequently? Or they actually can’t?
If you guys were in my position what would you do? What road should I take? I know there is not too much of an option either. Am I being realistic, if I rise my SATs, Get a 3.8 in college, is it really possible to transfer to the top 20 or even top 10?

Thanks to all of you guys who took the time to read and reply.

How do you plan on paying the costs for a top 20 school? Do you realize that transfer merit scholarships are rare? When they do exist, they’re worth a fraction of what freshman scholarships are worth.

i recommend you going to NCC for a year. yes it may not be what you wanted at first but here me out. NCC is one the the best community colleges in the nation. also since you want to get into a top 20 school, going there will save you lots of money and if you know off 30-36 credits and do extremely well, like a 3.8, most schools wont look at your high school and sat grades, or if they do they wont carry as much value as your college grades. so go to NCC for 2 semesters (about 4000 bucks) get outstanding grades, join some clubs and such and then apply to your top schools. i may be transferring to plattsburgh this fall and they arent a great school. they arent bad by any standards, but if would fit you better if you stayed on LI and get your first year out of the way.

For nysmile: my dad is an architect in Peru. makes around 250k a year. plus he is from a wealthy family. i dont think money is an obstacle.
