I'll be a Sophomore student at U of A this fall. It's okay, but I'm rather bleh about it. I currently have either a 3.99 or 4.0 (I'm arguing with the administration about a B I a received in a one credit unit class...); due to this, I'm considering trying to transfer to some of my dream schools. Another reason I want to transfer is because I first wanted to be a business student, but now comp engineering/ sci have caught more of my attention; I didn't come to U of A for the quality of their Comp engineering/sci programs, but for U of A's business program. Anyways, one of my ideas was Columbia. They have that pretty spiffy program where you go to a liberal arts college for a while, transfer to Columbia, and graduate with two degrees. There are numerous advantages to this: I would get two degrees, it would be easier to "sneak" into Columbia this way, and I just generally love the idea. On the con side it would take additional time, and it would really suck if I didn't make the subsequent transfer to Cornell. Some other details about my situation is I currently have a full ride, I'm on track to graduate with a dual degree in bus and comp sci, and I'm relatively far behind on the engineering curriculum. Thanks!

Being behind on the engineering curriculum isn’t good - you can only do the 3/2 program if you transfer after 3 years, fulfill all the requirements of Columbia and your own school (which often is more than Columbia’s).
I’m not really sure what role Cornell plays into this.

Come to Columbia. Don’t even think of Cornell. Cornell sucks in pretty much every way. Although Cornell is a high class school…
