should I transfer to a school in California

I need help.... I want to move to a warm place that is fun and full of different people... I am from Jersey and I love it here but I been here all my life. I am tired of the same people same environment and really tired of the cold. I would go to Florida but I know some people from there and is the same thing -_-... I just want to grow in life and i think Cali would be the perfect place. My parents don't really want me to leave but they'll understand eventually. I want to major in nursing and i eventually want to become a midwife =)... I have never left New Jersey (except when I go to NY but that doesn't count) I've also been to Florida a few times but it doesn't count either lol... I just want some advice on what I should do and some recommendations on some school in California that would somewhat fit what I expect...

which is:
Good education
Fun
Different people (diverse)
In a Urban but not soo urban area (decent place)
Safe area

Perfect Setting
(Calm, Fun, Warm, City life) =D

I hope some one can help

Be more specific about what you want. There are a myriad of schools in California that would meet your basic requirements (UCLA and Berkeley come to mind). However, those schools are highly competitive, so it would be helpful to have some idea of where you stand as an applicant before doling out advice.

What is your financial situation? Are you able to pay full OOS tuition at a CA public? Would you need FA or merit aid at a private?

Also, without any kind of stats, it’s hard to recommend schools.

Hopefully your parents will understand AND pay. Sonmany of the transfer posters here do not consider money. Finances have to lead the search, there is very little available aid for transfer students.

Advice from someone who moved from the East coast to California (myself). It’ll be difficult adjusting to this place. It’s much different. And don’t be fooled by what you see in the Hollywood movies; California isn’t like that. I’m heading back to the East in a few months myself.

I’d consider New York if I were you.
