I applied RD to UMich a couple of weeks ago. I have started filling out the CSS Profile and have a question. Is it better for me to go ahead and turn it in this weekend with estimates or should I wait until early January and turn it in at the same time as the FAFSA with the actual numbers? Which way would give me a better chance for financial aid? I am a very low income family so I need the best chance at aid I can get. Thanks!

I’d say turn it in now and then send the FAFSA as soon as you can complete it.

The CSS Profile is much harder to correct. I believe you have to send in the corrections via printing out the forms and hand correcting them, unless they changed it for this year. Why don’t you wait till you have all your parent’s tax information at end of January, and send the FAFSA, first?

What does the Fin Aid website say? I believe their data from CSS PROFILE isn’t due for a while.
