Should i tutor elementry kids or work with an autistic child?

the question sounds shallow and pathetic, but dont get me wrong, i really love kids and want to work with them, im a junior but im just scared that one would look worse on a college app compared to the other but im definitely doing it because i want to not for the applications, also im aiming for georgia tech if that would help give me advice on which one to do, I was contemplating doing both but i also have a heavy school load and sat prep classes this year

oops! i posted this in the wrong section, i thought this was for ec’s , sorry guys

You should do whichever one would bring you happiness and satisfaction without thinking about padding your resume.

When my daughter was a HS junior, she was a lazy slugabed who slept till noon on weekends. I gave her a choice of volunteering at a program for autistic children or getting a job - any job. She chose to volunteer with the children. It had such a profound impact on her that she continued to volunteer with this program throughout HS and eventually went to college and earned a masters in special ed. She earned a freshman scholarship at her college based on her community service and when the scholarship ended, the community service department hired her to coordinate their volunteer activities.

So, my advice to you is not to think of EC’s as resume builders, but as character builders and opportunities to check out something you might be interested in pursuing.
