Should letters of recommendations be signed?

I invited an “other” recommender in the Common App to write a recommendation letter for me. Will he need to print the document, sign it, scan it, and attach it? Or there will be an option to sign electronically? Thanks

The recommendation letters for the Common App can all be submitted electronically. There is no need for them to be printed and uploaded with an actual signature. I believe the Common App gives instructions to the recommender as to how he/she can submit a letter of recommendation. Since the Common App requires an electronic signature from students in order for an application to be submitted, I assume that there is an option for recommenders to sign electronically as well.
