If we move out of state (CA), he would likely have to transfer because we can’t afford to pay out-of-state tuition. Given the uncertainty, would it not be better to have an SAT score, along with college grades for a transfer application?
Yes, my husband works in Silicon Valley and was also asked about his SAT score for his first tech job. It is a possibility, although I and probably most people never have had to deal with it.
Silly debate. Take the test if you want, don’t if you don’t. It is unlikely to make or break any application, but every little bit might help. Those of us who did not attend the country’s best boarding school usually have lots of time Spring of senior year; many took off completely after January 1 applications were submitted and barely attended class thereafter. An afternoon of testing was no big deal.
The competition for some internships is fierce, and I do not know why one would not take every opportunity for an edge, but people differ. Many Ivy League students admitted this year had test scores @lindagraf. Those who do not will find other ways if needed. Or like @skieurope, they may be interested in jobs where scores never come up. Hard to predict the future.
