Should you list down an EC that you no longer take part in?

Hi,
I was just wondering should one list down an extracurricular activity that they no longer participate in. I know colleges like to look for dedication to a certain activity, so I was wondering if it will hurt you if they see you discontinued the activity.

For example, I used to participate in sports when I was a freshman, but when I was a sophomore, I quit participating in sports (due to a heavier course load + I joined Robotics.) Should I list it down anyway?

(But in my opinion, it looks kind of sad/pathetic to see that the only year I participated in that activity was in freshman year)

You can list it. It’s no big deal either way. It doesn’t look bad - it looks like you tried something and decided not to pursue it in favor of something you liked better. What does look bad is 1 year of 20 differrent clubs and no commitment to anything.

list it. the worst it will do is not help. but it won’t hurt
