Hello, I am in a bit of a unique situation.
So, about 3 weeks ago I visited Cornell, toured the campus, and attended a college of arts and sciences information session as I was pretty much undecided and felt CAS would be the best place for me. On the tour, and since then I have become very interested in ILR to the point of wanting to apply ED. ILR places a large emphasis on "interest shown", so I was wondering if anybody knew of anyway I could show interest without visiting (my parents do not want to fly back out since we just got back), and do you think I should explain this situation in the application?

You can e-mail the admissions people if you have any legit questions, but otherwise I think visiting is the only way to show interest.

Pay attention to any regional events; Cornell holds sessions all over the country. If they send a rep to your school, go to the meeting. Request an alumni interview if they do them. At any contact, emphasize your interest in ILR.

Ask for an ILR viewbook. Sign up for any e-mail newletters. Review the website and see what opportunities for contact there might be.

Try to contact a student or recent alumni to tell you about the college, what they like or dislike and some other things about life at Cornell.

Take a look at the CDS of the school(s) you are interested in. Some schools don't care. ie Stanford for example.
