Showing "passion" in your application

I really want to show colleges that I have a passion for writing/english. I have already won some writing competitions, have excellent SAT CR and Writing scores, and will have my English teacher write my recommendation letter. And I will tell colleges that I am intending to major in English Language and Literature.

So... my question is if I need to show more "passion" for this. I have the opportunity to start an English Honor Society at my school if I want to this year. Do you think this would be a good idea or would the adcoms could care less?

Are you interested in starting an English Honor Society? If yes, do so. If not, refrain. Why should it matter what an admission officer thinks if it’s something you’re actually “passionate” about?

Like said so many times on here, dont do things just for college. You wanna start an English Honor Society, then do it, but dont ask yourself how it will look on your college application. That said, you seem to have a passion for English so start the honor society if you want to.

You should only start the club if you want to. Call me crazy, but I’d say that if you have a real passion for writing and English, then you’d want to start the club regardless of whether it will impress anyone or not.

Yes, I really do have an interest in starting it. But at the same time I still want to make sure that I have put together the best application that I can.
