I have read countless times how colleges want your ECs/Volunteer work to show your "passion" for a certain area. Personally, I'm extremely "passionate" about physics - I love reading books by people like Kip Throne and Leonard Susskind, and discussing physics on online forums, etc. Anyways, I'm going to Duke TIP's Astronomy & Physics summer program this summer, but I was wondering what kind of things can I do in the future that would show my passion for physics? I'm looking at some other summer programs like SSP. So what summer programs and or other things would you recommend?

You could invent a theory and patent it. I know thats one way to get into MIT is being creative and writing down theories on quantam mechanics you may have. Or placing first in some physics competitions. IDK. You have plenty of options.

What kind of physics competitions? I really hate doing a bunch of calculations, so are there theoretical competitions??
