Is there a shuttle service from campus to the Philadelphia airport? How frequently does it run? Any other info on transportation from campus to the airport would be greately appreciated.

Yes. At both ends of vacation periods, the school runs a shuttle to and from the airport. You sign up for it and there are arranged meeting times. The cost is fairly negligible. I can't remember: $10 or so. This is how my daughter usually goes to and from the airport for vacations.

You can also take the train directly from the airport terminals into downtown Phila, catching the R3 train directly to Swarthmore's campus. Again, maybe $10 or $15 total. If this is something imminent, I can post details. It's easy.

Third option is students often share a cab. It's only about a 10 mile trip -- three students in a cab is pretty affordable.

If you are doing an overnight, the train option would probably be the best bet.

I've flown in to visit my sister at Swat several times. The train is really pretty easy. Walk out of the airport and the R1 is practically right in front of you. Take it to 30th Street and the moment you turn around, you're at the R3 Media/Elwyn, which dumps you right at the base of campus. It's a bit pricey, especially at peak times, but you can usually buy a single ticket for your whole journey and I've never had it cost more than $12.

Well, transportation costs for winter and summer break are factored into financial aid (I get $60 for each break, presumably for gas costs, since it's like a 3 hour drive). But anyway, we got an e-mail about this... it's $5 each way (so $10 in total) if you pre-pay. If you don't pre-pay or if you go at like 4 AM and you happen to be the only person on the shuttle, you'll have to pay an extra $5 each way.
