I accidentally put the wrong info for my sister on the Common App. It says to put her undergraduate school, so I did that, but then it asks about degrees earned/expected. Now that I think about it, it probably meant the degree she got at the undergrad school. I put master's degree because she is in the process of getting it right now, even though she obviously didn't get it from her undergrad school. I don't think it should be a problem, but I'm paranoid. So, do you think it's a problem? Oh, and the school she went to for undergrad is not the school I am applying to.

I have the same question! Except I was wondering since it says, “Please give names and ages of your brothers or sisters. If they are enrolled in grades K-12 (or international equivalent), list their grade levels. If they have attended or are currently attending college, give the names of the undergraduate institution, degree earned, and approximate dates of attendance. If more than three siblings, please list them in the Additional Information section.”

should i say hes getting a masters…but put a different school because it says to put undergrad?

The common app is slightly ambiguous in this area. If you’ll look in the parents section, it defines via precedence the institution where the undergraduate degree is obtained as “college” and any institution where graduate degrees are earned as “graduate school.” Why they don’t care about a sibling’s graduate degree is beyond me. I think they mean for you to put only the undergraduate institution and degree for both. Take it for what it’s worth, but I did the same thing as both of you, mixing the degree and undergraduate institution. Didn’t seem to affect my application in any way. I seriously doubt if they care. Ultimately, they’re evaluating you, not your siblings.
