I'm a freshman who's been back for around 4 days for Thanksgiving Break, and I've come to realize how boring life is when I'm not back at school. We start classes on Monday and I'd be fine if I were going back on Sunday night, but I bought the wrong plane ticket and have to wait until Tuesday morning to go back :(. Anyone else going back a little late? If not, when do you leave?

Well, considering I didn’t go home for Thanksgiving break (kinda pointless when I’ll be coming home in two weeks anyway, and plus, I can’t afford a train or plane ticket home anyway)…I’m already at school. There are a few people in my dorm building who haven’t gone home for the break, either.

Yep. I liked seeing some of my high school friends, but I didn’t see my best friend… so it wasn’t even like I got to see the one person who I miss most. I was also home just last week.

School is a lot less stressful than home and I feel bad about complaining about home, because I don’t have a bad home life in the least. I have a mom and a dad that love me, but tensions definitely do rise when I’m home. It’s hard being back at home where my parents expect me to take care of my sister. My dad and I are both very opinionated, so it is really easy to get in arguments. My dad and sister are always sick or in the hospital, so my mom is always worrying about them. And it all just gets to me very quickly. I kind of feel trapped here. Christmas is not going to be very much fun. But I also realize it could be way, way, way worse. So I shouldn’t complain.

I go back today and I’m completely ready.

I’m enjoying every minute of my break. I’ve been working so hard, and it’s nice to veg out for once. Classes resume on Monday. :)

I agree with nerdasaurus. College gets so overwhelming sometimes, with some sort of activity going on every minute of every day. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but it’s nice to take a breather.

I hate being on break. I guess it’s nice to not have class, but college has effectively severed all ties to my family and being around them is exceedingly awkward. I just want to be back at my apartment with my friends again…

I LOVE break. It’s really great and a pause from school stress. I also love where I live compared to school.

I love Thanksgiving break. My only qualm about it is that it does slightly throw off your study routine (if you have one going) and several semesters I’ve had big essays or exams on the horizon so I haft to get started on that.
This is why spring semester is so much better. More balanced and get a whole week off.

I actually quiet loved it. Got to see all my best friends from HS, and my parents were on vacation in the Carribean…so put that combo together and u can bet I had a pretty fun time last week. Unfortunately by Sunday I already forgot I was still enrolled in a college and put myself in that Summer-after-Freshman year mode where you prepare yourself to lounge and chill for the long haul. Kinda sucked being in class Monday morning, but hey only two more weeks until Winter break! :)

I think five days of break is perfect. Not too long and not too short. I got to see family, see my dogs, put Christmas stuff up, finish projects, and sleep. Some break from college and my friends here is nice every once an a while.

I had 8 days of break. Got back into the swing of things on Monday. I’ll admit that the vacation was a bit excessive and, because of it, was not able to study as adequately as I wanted to. In addition to that, once thanksgiving break ended, we only have TWO weeks of school left before the semester ends on Dec. 9th. Yeah…one week of actual learning and then another week of finals. :

I like Thanksgiving Break, but I feel as though professors give big assignments over break, and then I don’t get to really relax like I wanted to do.

I had exams before break, so we didn’t have any assignments.

It’s ironic though. My friend went on a trip, so he was busy most of the time. He also had a lot of homework, so he ended up getting sick over the whole week.
