Just about everyone in my daughters dorm got a virus including symptoms like aches and fever and nausea…during the first few weeks of school. The infirmaries are well staffed at boarding schools, and the nurse or dr will assess your situation, and if need be you might spend a couple of days in the infirmary, it’s not that unusual. My daughter and several of her friends ended up there, missing a day or two of classes…and it was tough for her to catch up on the work she’d missed, because she still wasn’t feeling great for about a week.

Tor: As cameo states, the school’s medical staff/infirmary will take care of you. ChoatieKid spent five consecutive nights in the infirmary freshman year and missed one of his final exams. The school was very accommodating enabling him to catch up fairly easily, and re-scheduling the exam on an evening when he was well enough to take it.
