Just submitted my project. How long is a typical paper?
Submitted last night. Gonna get rekt since I started writing the report last week. 16 pages 
What regions are you from?
Just submitted. I started and was basically done with my paper a month ago, but SOOO many re-edits. I’m from NY.
I’m from NC. So where did you all do your research?
I did all my research at home (data analysis), but my mentor is a researcher at Columbia university
I’m from San Diego, and did my research at UCSD.
So what were your projects about? I think it’s pretty cool that we are all doing work in different “fields”.
Well…I’m f***ed. All of my summer’s work, all of the hours that went into writing this research paper, the late nights, the free periods used, it all just went down the drain. Due to a formatting error.
I can’t believe I didn’t notice this yesterday. Apparently, a month ago, I decided to start my page numbers at 0, starting with my abstract. But I forgot about this, and when I saw that one part of a paragraph spilled over onto page 19, I thought it was completely fine. Then I checked my submission again today, and realized that this was the 19th page, not including the abstract. Therefore I exceeded the 18-page limit.
Well, now I’ll be disqualified. I don’t even know what to think at this point. I feel indescribably horrible right now.

You should try contacting them. They usually are forgiving if you act fast and present it as an honest mistake.
I did contact them via email.
My project was in developmental biology/embryology. What about you guys?
And @sighing, I think you should be okay. They tend to be pretty forgiving - I even know some people who have 0.9 inch margins, 11 pt font sizes, etc. that didn’t get disqualified.
I hope so…they said that whether I’m disqualified or not will be up to the judges.
Mine was in materials science.

Mine was climate analysis. Btw, good luck on the page limit. I think that they will understand because they know how hard it is to put together a paper for Siemens.
