Yeah, my data doesn’t make too much sense of you don’t read the procedure, so now I’m really worried because I doubt they’re going to read those sections
Well, the abstract should make a decent overview, so maybe it will probably be ok.
I heard that for the first round, the judges look at title + abstract and just skim through the actual paper. I mean, how else are they going to judge 1600+ papers in a week. There’s no way they can go through all those papers in such little time.
Do you guys want to share abstracts?
So does it seem that they select more bio? I am really nervous because I did earth science, and because the odds are low anyways.
I don’t think they select a disproportionate amount of bio projects, probably there are a lot more bio submissions to begin with. Dont feel too nervous; there’s nothing you can do at this point besides wait. Busy your mind with other things!
I know, but I am having trouble not thinking about it. Also, does anyone know the judging process? I am a little confused as to how they go about judging the projects.
Do they put the list of regional semifinalists today (Friday 10/14)? If so, where would we look for it?
No, they’re posting the list of semifinalists 10/18 on their website and social media accounts
Did anyone else have the noteadd and needsattn (I’m assuming that means ‘add note’ and ‘needs attention’) actions performed on their project? I saw them done like 2 weeks ago under the Project Activity section on the submission dashboard and wanted to know if it meant anything XD
I don’t have it in mine. Can you post a screenshot of what you are referring to?
I have it too, but I assumed it was because I emailed Siemens telling them that I forgot to include page numbers.
I can’t post a screenshot but basically under Project Activity after it says “____ submitted the final project” there’s a post that says “Customer support user performed needsattn action on behalf of user _” and then there’s another one that says “Customer support user performed needsadd action on behalf of user _”
I don’t have it on mine either, but there’s nothing we can do now except stress and worry like crazy for the next 3 days
I plan on doing so.
Are any of you planning to submit to Regeneron STS? The deadline is November 16. I might apply if I don’t get anything in Siemens.
I’m a junior so I can’t. I’ll try making ISEF, but that’s way too hard
Is individual more competitive than group projects?
Individual is probably more competitor than group, there are likely more individual projects than team ones. Also seniors tend to have more complex projects and work by themselves.
Is there any statistics on this at all? This seems all hearsay.
About the same number of apps as Siemens and the same number of semi finalists. But I wouldnt know how good the projects are because being a senior may not necessarily mean you have done a good project, but it means you can choose your best one from your projects (I assume). However there are many good team projects that can’t submit.
