Do the siemens judges consider whether or not a student had access to mentors and lab equipment when considering their project? I did a research project that would have been much better if i had access to a real lab, but the research is still good since I developed a way to work around the lack of resources to test my hypothesis. Does siemens consider this when comparing it to someone who worked with actual researchers in real labs?

They say they don’t, but the majority of semi’s and regional finalists worked in a lab, my friends did and I did. Honestly, the research competitions are as much of a crapshoot as Ivy league applications.
