Well, I'm not sure this is the right spot to post this question but here it goes. Today, I was just notified that I will be given a paid internship position over the summer (probably longer than that though) working with a doctor at my local med center. However, there I will basically be doing simple stuff like gel electrophoresis and PCRs and then analyzing them. The stuff that I'm doing serves and important role, but 3 grad school students are doing work that is more "complex." So, would I still be able to submit this work in for Siemens?

I believe you need to be in high school during the competition and the grad students’ are part of the research team so they would need to be part of the project, and you can’t do that with the high school rule and also due to the fact that only 3 people can be on a team at the most.

Are you sure that everyone working on a research project must be included in the lab. Two of my friends last year worked on their project with more than just a doctor and they became regional finialists.

What I interpreted from the website was that only your mentor could help you and anyone else who worked on the project has to be included on the team. I may be wrong so don’t solely listen to me.
