Similar schools?

Hello all, I was looking around and reading different reviews for schools I'm interested in.
So far, Oberlin really stuck to me, but they don't offer my major of choice ( Int. relations/affair)
Are there any other colleges/universities similar to the atmosphere of Oberlin? Thanks!

To answer your question: Carelton, Grinnell, Haverford, Macalester, Reed, Vassar, Wesleyan.

Although, there is surely an international relations/politics track within the Politics Department at Oberlin. So in my view you shouldn’t eliminate Oberlin from your list. There’s nothing an I.R. major can give you that the Politics major with an international focus can’t.

Well, yes. The two are actually quite different. Political science is a lot of theory. IR is a lot of application. They are certainly overlapping fields and it won’t matter if you’re not particular or if you’re going to grad school, but I for one need more application than theory or I’d get bored.

“Carelton, Grinnell, Haverford, Macalester, Reed, Vassar, Wesleyan”

A good list in terms of comparable cultures vis a vis Oberlin. Add Pomona. If LACs matter, but you can handle more preppiness, try Middlebury and Bowdoin. If IR is really your passion, definitely and positively, and you are willing pass on the culture, then I’d look at the schools in Washington DC: Georgetown, George Washington, American Univ…lot of opportunities to work with international organizations/agencies/foreign cultural organizations.
