What are you, the new dcircle? I don't see why stuff like this is important.

it has "harvard" in the title. the importance is self-evident.
(btw, thanks for the shout out)

Lol....you're one of a kind, we can't have imposters.

Brown can rest easy! Ruth won't leave them in the lurch!

She's needed more than ever, with "Turnover at the Top".

<a href="http://www.browndailyherald.com/media/storage/paper472/news/2006/09/08/CampusNews/Turnover.At.The.Top-2262825.shtml?norewrite200609081921&sourcedomain=www.browndailyherald.com%5B/url%5D">http://www.browndailyherald.com/media/storage/paper472/news/2006/09/08/CampusNews/Turnover.At.The.Top-2262825.shtml?norewrite200609081921&sourcedomain=www.browndailyherald.com</a></p>

We were at the presentation. Her response was very funny and to the point. I don't think she is interested in leaving Brown. In particular not for the Harvard job.

Despite the fact that she's a Harvard grad, I doubt that she'd be seriously considered; too old at this point.

Well Byerly, according to everything I read she was on the short list.

Too old by traditional criteria, but perhaps, at this point, they want predictability. Just as they brought back Bok as interim, perhaps they want a proven person with sucess as a college president to calm things down for a while. Get faculty on board with the big change to Alston, etc. If so, then a relatively short term (4-6 years), from an older, gentler person could be fine. Once the Summers affair recedes from memory, battle lines are no longer drawn, they could take a chance on a younger less tested leader.

Now Keohane is probably too old even for that.

I hope there is no short list yet. If there is, and Simmons knew she was not on it, then declaring her lack of interest would be a smart move.

The people putting out these "lists" are speculating outsiders with an agenda, not the Corporation.

Wow Byerly, that sounds like your posts on the Brown CC forums.

I hate to say this, but titcr melody.
