Has anyone received a likely letter so far?
Nope.
Then again I’m prob not the strongest applicant by far.
I don’t know if this counts as a likely letter but I got an email from the program yesterday that said I am “currently being considered for a potential placement” at a certain lab and I should schedule an interview.
@23anonymous32, previous Simons fellows - does it mean an interview from mentor is required before getting selected?
@23anonymous32, were you also previously accepted into a lab before applying, or did you not contact a lab at all?

Do we have to get a likely letter to get in? And can I ask what lab/category it was? @23anonymous32
Congrats to all accepted and I look forward to meeting you on the private Facebook group!
@tweety01 I don’t believe an interview was necessary for acceptance. According to the letter, it stated that it was rather to see if my research interests matched that of the lab and if the lab was a good fit.
@rathoda No, I did not have a lab set up before I got the letter.
@hodgkin314 From reading through posts from previous years, a likely letter is not necessary for admission. Although I’m not going to disclose the specific lab, my category is Biochemistry/Cell Biology
results r out already ?
@yaleclassof2023 - did you get formal acceptance?
rejected… idk what these ■■■■■■■■■■■■■ want… I did everything I could
Rejected. I’m a little mad but i also knew that i wasn’t the strongest applicant as I didnt have prior research experience so oh well
Got on the waitlist…
Did you receive an email or online update ?
rejected
Do most of those accepted into the program already have an acceptance in a lab?
rejected too. Is there any other way I could still work in a lab there. I heard some people emailed faculty members directly and are working with them and its like they’re “unofficially” part of the Simons program ??
@columbia
Where would you stay though?
