Simple Question

When a college asks for an essay that is "at least one typewritten page", do they mean single or double-spaced?

The reason I ask is that my Villanova supplement essay is about a page and a half double spaced, and I really don't want to add anything else to it.

Is your current essay double-spaced?

Can you call the admissions office and ask? If you’ll be in school, can you have a parent ask? Is there anything on Villanova’s website that gives more info?

My current essay is double-spaced.

I could call the admissions office, but it just seems like it would be a waste of their time with a simple question like this. I figured I’d get a simple, straightforward answer on CC.

The problem is that a CC answer might just be a guess…and a wrong guess at that. call the school and ask.

My son got into Villanova last year. His app was 510 words (just checked), which was one single spaced page. Since font can make a difference, go by word count. I’d say 500-600 words is about right. Good luck!
