Congrats to everyone who got in, and to those who didn’t-- there’s 950+ people in the United States feeling just as dejected as we do. Unless I’m the only one feeling kinda sad… then it’s just me ! Ahhaa.

hey guys, to everyone feeling discouraged i just think that the most logical thing to do would be to wait until tomorrow. if you look back at the official paper application it said that applicants are notified ON april 8th. just still have hope, they have clearly stuck with email notifications in the past and it says on the site that they plan on doing that this year as well. i’m feeling pretty anxious myself but i think its too soon to tell.

@tomatolove Didn’t people say they received the official email already, the one that the SIMR website said they would send out? I mean, unless they send out two batches, but I would think they would only send it once to everyone. But I mean, who knows, maybe there is still hope, I sure hope so.
@Christy12 I am really really disappointed too : (

it wouldnt make much sense to send out notification emails in two batches on two different days. im not trying to discredit anyone here, just offering comfort to those feeling dejected the way i am. it just logically makes no sense. i dont think stanford has time to make phone calls and if they would i doubt it would be so late. i wouldnt know for sure but i just do not want to convince myself of my application status before im told of it from simr themselves.

@tomatolove, I hope your right, but I am lowering my expectations just in case.

Did all three (is it four) who received calls specify a single number 1 choice and are getting calls from the same lab?

I think you get accepted and then relist your top choices for lab.

I feel like a failure oh well, maybe next time

Hey this is not the end of the world. There are so many quality universities and so many opportunities. Stanford is just one of them. What matters most is continue your personal journey with your heart as guide and you will not only succeed but that success will have profound effect on mankind.

For now let us congratulate all those who got in and remind them to do well with eye on making this world a better place.

Cheers!

Congrats guys!!! It is nice to know that I am no longer alone in being rejected (I was that guy who called a couple weeks ago, learned i didn’t get it, and learned 1000 people applied). It sucks but new doors will open. Not being in the top 4.5% is not a big deal especially because SIMR already only receives the top applicants. Many past applicants have reported being accepted to Stanford while other SIMR applicants have said they were rejected from Stanford.

Just be happy they sent out acceptances first. RSI sent out their rejects first and as I did not get an email I was excited. Until 2 days later (after some letters had been received by accepted people) did they bother sending me an email about me being rejected (if you did not notice I am still very bitter about this). Who knows, SIMR might have the opposite mistake and accept people tomorrow!

Okay well I guess I can’t do anything about it now, I’m just going to remember that one of these days I will get an opportunity like this and to never give up trying.

Congratulations to all you very lucky people who got in!

Now time to eat my feelings

Wait so is it freal that tthey came out, if so can someone post up a screen shot of the email? thanks

I am a parent and I can confirm that some people have indeed received phone calls followed by emails about their acceptance. I found out from another parent. However, this seems to be all on west coast (unless one of the people who posted is not from California).

will they leave a msg if you weren’t there to receive the call?

Do you have a missed call? Otherwise you did not receive it.

I’m not sure. Not home yet

I just called a friend of mine who applied. Stats:

2400 SAT
senior
got into harvard stanford mit etc etc
research projects, etc etc
got into clarks last year

didn’t get an email yet and he’s from cali. So those who haven’t received an email yet, there is still hope!

They left a message and sent an email (I live in California though).

I got in. I live in Southern California. Two phone calls came in this evening but I did not answer them(like an idiot). I checked my e-mail and found out that I got in. Very excited and I cannot believe it. I have accepted it and I am ready to go.
Congratulations to every one who got in and the ones who did not.
=)

I guess I can just let that RSI rejection slide now. lol

well, guess I’m out then. Haven’t gotten a rejection yet…has anyone else? I guess we can assume we didn’t make the cut. congrats to those who did :)
